What is a neti pot?

A neti pot is a pot usually made of porcelain, glass or metal and intended to aid in the cleansing of the nasal passages and sinuses. Either water or more often a saline solution is poured from the pot into one nostril and is allowed to drain out of the other. The the process is repeated using the other nostril as the receptacle. This process cleanses the nasal passages and loosens hardened contaminants, in effect cleansing your sinuses.
