There is a great deal of attention being paid to food allergies recently, and with good reason. Many more children are being found to have specific allergies to specific foods these days when compared to years ago. Food allergies can be detrimental, even fatal, to children and should be checked out and tested for thoroughly. Allergy tests however are like any other thing and are susceptible to human error. Here is a story out of New Zealand where a parent took their child to two different allergy tests and received two different results. Food allergies are a danger, but remember that there can also be problems in the testing process. A second test may just be what the doctor ordered.

Testing in the medical field isnt perfect. Hopefully one day we will have better technology but for now its all we have. Having a second opinion will help to keep doctors honest.
